Mottey's Garage # 25 : Hootenany
June 07, 2008 06:03 PM PDT
Hootenany is a great song on a great album by the Replacements. I wasnt really sure what a "hoot" was until i was looking for something to write about with this episode. Its defined as followin:"An informal social gathering or concert featuring mostly folk songs, sometimes dancing, and where the audience often participates in the singing." Take away folk part, sub in alot of electric guitars, sub dancing with jumping around and the audiance is more like my buddies yelling at the neighbors to quit crying about the noise and I guess thats what goes on weekly on my driveway and garage. Yeah, A Hootenany. Tonight we are entertain by the likes of jay Reatard, The Tubes, Black and White, Mr. T, and a bunch more. Rock it. |
